MATU Scheme of MSME Ministry
Greetings of the day !
In the recent past, the Defence & Home Land Security Committee has been involved with the promotion of MSMEs for Defence procurement. A Committee for monitoring and review of public procurement policy for Defence supply has been constituted under the chairmanship of the secretary, MSME Ministry. Mr. Rajiv Bhatnagar, Chairman, Defence and Homeland Security Committee has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the monitory committee. Also, PHD Chamber has been nominated as the nodal agency for the promotion of MSME with respect to the public procurement policy for Defence supply. Number of meetings has been held by the committee till now. During the discussions and interactions at various levels, it came up that the opportunities for technology and marketing upgradation are limited which restricts the growth of MSMEs.
Consequent to this, The Secretary MSME desired that in addition to the above role the PHD Chamber Defence Committee should make extra efforts to promote the MATU-Marketing Assistance and Technology Upgradation Scheme vigorously. A series of meetings were also held with the Developing Institutes, MSME, New Delhi.
As you all are aware, the MSME Ministry has a scheme called MATU-Marketing Assistance and Technology Upgradation, to encourage MSMEs to participate in International Trade Fairs/Exhibitions to showcase their products and promote them. The list of International Trade Fairs/Exhibitions which are nominated by the Ministry is attached.
The Scheme provides the following:
- Space rent:- 80% of the space rent for General category units whereas 100% for SC/STIWOMEN/NER units subject to maximum Rs. 1.00 lakh or actual rent paid, whichever is less. The space rent will subject to maximum booth/stall size of 6sq.mts or minimum booth/ stall size provided by concerned Indian Trade bodies( e.g ITPO,FIEO etc) or the fair organizer.
- Air fare:- 100% of the economy class air fare for all categories of units subject to maximum Rs. 1.25 lakh or actual air fare paid whichever is less (for one representative from each participating enterprise)
Since PHD Chamber is involved in the entire processing of the application as well as getting the application approved by the ministry, a facilitation fee of 10% will be charged after the reimbursement of the money by the MSME Ministry.
To avail the scheme, a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 1000/- for Members of PHD Chamber and Rs.3000/- for Non Members is to be paid to the Chamber , along with the attached Application Form. Those MSMEs who are not the members are advised to take up the membership of PHD Chamber. Membership form of PHD Chamber is available on demand.
Any MSME may fill the attached application form and send it to Ms. Tania Kar at email@example.com, Tel-011 -49545454 extn. (236) for the further processing with the MSME Ministry. The hard copies of the Applications alongwith the cheque for registration fee made in favour of ‘PHD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY’ is required to be forwarded at the address given in the signature block.
For states other than New Delhi, the applications will be routed through the regional Developing Institutes of the MSME Ministry. After the submission of the application, the details of the applicants will be forwarded to Ms Tania for further processing with the MSME Ministry.
Since the application is required to be submitted 75 days in advance, you may select the exhibition/fair you wish to participate, only from Dec 2017 onwards.
