MSME MINISTRY GOING TO LAUNCH MSME PAKHWARA ON BLOCK, DISTRICT& STATE LEVEL, SAYS ITS SECRETARY AT PHD CHAMBER

 

Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Dr. Arun Kumar Panda on Tuesday said that his ministry is going to write to the other ministries to organize MSME Pakhwara on block, district and state level for skilling and training small entrepreneurs about the government schemes which the small enterprises can get the additional benefits of these to enlarge their business.

 

Addressing an Interactive Session on “Marketing Opportunities in Government Procurement Programme for Indian MSMEs” under aegis of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today, Dr. Panda also stressed that the Ministry of MSME has begun to intensify its attention to work for this segment instead of talking and all stakeholders should contribute towards this.

 

Dr. Panda said that MSME sector has emerged as highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy, it is not only play crucial role in providing large employment opportunity at comparatively lower capital cost than the large industries but also helping in rural and backward areas. 

 

He further stated that the government is also helping MSMEs in their NPAs resolution and coming out with amendment in the insolvency and bankruptcy provision to help MSMEs to bid for their companies.

 

According to him, his ministry is providing digital services to all its services particularly to the MSME sector such as MSME Samadhan for delayed payment monitoring system, MSME Sambandh with the objective to monitor the implementation of the public procurement from MSMEs by central public sector enterprises, Udyog Aadhar – online registration for MSME and the like.

 

In her address, CEO, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Ms. Radha S Chauhan said that GeM is a one stop government e-Marketplace to facilitate online procurement of common use goods and services required by various government departments and PSUs with the aim to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement which provides the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users and achieve the best value for their money. 

 

In his welcome address, President, PHD Chamber, Mr. Anil Khaitan said that the Chamber has joined hands with GeM and entered a new phase by signing an MoU  so that awareness in regard to GeM is there at grass root level in various clusters of MSMEs. GeM is a great platform to boost the MSME sector by facilitating business between the Government, Industry and entrepreneurs online, GeM helps in improving the quality and efficiency of the products and services on offer, particularly the ones sourced from the MSME sector.

 

He also said that the MSMEs can bid for market tenders free of cost through the e-Procurement portal. This would allow MSMEs to actively participate in various Government Procurement programs. This would also enable the Public Sector Enterprises (PSUs) to achieve the mandatory 20% procurement from SMEs as stipulated in the Procurement Policy of 2012 and further contribute to the growth of MSMEs.

 

Among others who were also spoke on the occasion comprised Principal Chief Material manager, Northern Railways, Mr. Pradeep Kumar; Chairperson, MSME Committee, PHD Chamber, Ms. Anju Bajaj; Advisor, PHD Chamber, Dr. H P Kumar including its Principal Director of the Chamber, Dr. Ranjeet Mehta along with its Secretary, Ms. Kanchan Zutshi.
