Government of Jharkhand to host “Global Skill Summit 2019” on 10th of Jan for Strengthening Skilling, Employability and Industrial Development in Jharkhand
In its endeavour to promote employability and entrepreneurship among its youth and to provide a focused platform to the concerned stakeholders from industry, government and key international trade representatives, the Government of Jharkhand (GoJ) has been taking initiatives at ground and policy level. For carrying further the mission and ensure greater convergence of stakeholders, GoJ’s Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS) is going to organise its flagship programme, “Global Skill Summit 2019” on 10th January 2019 at Birsa Munda Athletic Stadium, Khelgaon, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
It is in public reckoning, how over the years Jharkhand has been keeping the skilling of its youth at the forefront of development activities with an aim to establish the state as a “Skill Hub of India”. In tandem, the Global Skill Summit 2019 is expected to attract participation across the domains in skill development and employability.
Moreover, the occasion will also offer a unique opportunity to understand the promising potential of Jharkhand in various sectors and to interact with the policy-makers, skill providers, employers, and industry and trade captains from across the world.
Essentially, the Summit will host the remarkable exchanges of ideas, opinions and action plans to enable the skill development and employability framework of Jharkhand to meet the desired goals.
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), India’s National Apex Chamber, is the “Industry Partner” of Government of Jharkhand for Global Skill Summit 2019.
The state of Jharkhand in the last four years has set skilling of its youth at the forefront of all its development activities. The Government of Jharkhand, in its endeavour to promote employability and entrepreneurship of its youth, continues to establish world-class skill infrastructure in the state and creating opportunities for critical human resource.
The previous edition of Global Skill Summit held on 10th January 2018, the National Youth Day, witnessed unprecedented positive turnout with about 27,000 Job Offers given to the skilled youth from the state in the Private Sector. The Summit created a benchmark in the skill ecosystem of the country.
Noticeably, to carry forward the momentum, the state of Jharkhand has set up more than 20 Mega Skill Centres in the State, truly representing the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of skilling at Scale, Speed and Standard.
The state’s investor friendly Skill Policy 2018 has resulted in large number of leading Industries and Employers to look towards Jharkhand favourably, to meet its human resource requirement. Skill Development training is ongoing in more than 125 trades in nearly 30 sectors, catering to nearly full spectrum of Industries.
It is an acknowledged fact that Jharkhand’s youth stand out as a hardworking, ethical and committed workforce, delivering much higher efficiency and productivity to the employers, than expected from them. It is the state’s endeavour to place Jharkhand as a Skill Hub of the country in the next five years and a destination of choice to meet Industry’s manpower requirement.
Global Skill Summit 2019 will offer an opportunity to interact with the policy makers, skill providers, employers, and thought leaders from all across the world. The Government of Jharkhand plans to facilitate 1,00,000 Job Offers to the skilled youth by that day, setting yet another landmark in the skilling domain.
