The NER Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India organized a “Virtual Awareness Program on Export Documentation for MSMEs, Focus State: Arunachal Pradesh” under Capacity Building Programme Initiative on 30th November 2022.

The objective of the program was to spread awareness on the complete export documentation process amongst the MSMEs of Arunachal Pradesh.

Mr. S. K. Das, Trainer & Consultant, Tool Room & Training Centre, Ministry of MSME & Former Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Guwahati, spoke about the Northeast Region’s richness in natural resources and how to tap the export market in regards to the available natural resources. He also highlighted the lack of awareness on proper export documentation amongst the MSMEs.

Mr. Nilesh Trivedi, Assistant Director, Branch MSME-DFO, Tura, Meghalaya gave a brief description about the efforts being made by the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India in facilitation of exports. He mentioned the importance of the MSME sector in the overall export scenario of the country and pointed out the need to support, nourish and provide them with proper mentorship and guidance. He gave a brief description of various schemes under the Ministry of MSME for facilitating exporters. He also highlighted the need to make a profile of exporters, especially for the NER.

Mr. Arjun Upadhya S., Deputy DGFT, Kolkata gave a brief overview about the newly launched District as Export Hub Scheme. He also stated that the inauguration of the Donyi Polo Airport at Itanagar will make Arunachal Pradesh as one of the most well-connected States of the NER. He also stated that the air cargo will be crucial in the turnaround story of the export scenario of the State. He also highlighted the need for a common facility centre and processing centre attached to the newly inaugurated Airport as well as the Naharlagun Railway Station.

Mr. Parveen Verma, Young Professional, Trade Promotion Wing, O/o The Additional DGFT, Kolkata gave a detailed presentation on understanding the trade ecosystem and proper export documentation. He also gave a detailed overview on the Niryat Bandhu Scheme of the Ministry of Commerce.

Mr. Amit Agarwal, Alumni, IIFT, New Delhi, gave a detailed presentation on Export Process and Focus products for Arunachal Pradesh.

Dr. Jatinder Singh, Assistant Secretary General, PHDCCI gave the concluding remarks and offered the Vote of Thanks.
