PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry had organized a press meet on 12th Dec 2022 at Gauhati Press Club to announce the 2nd Edition of “Momentum North East”, which is scheduled to be held from 20-22 January 2023 at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari, Guwahati.
Dr. Jatinder Singh, Assistant Secretary General, PHDCCI, stated that Momentum North East 2023, shall comprise of development expo, agri and rural expo, industrial expo and North East Development Meet. The three day Exhibition & Conference shall bring a large number of the national and international stake-holders from the industry, institutions, Government and the development sectors to showcase the programs and schemes, products, technologies and services; and deliberate upon the issues and opportunities and the way forward. This shall provide an opportunity for the region to showcase its potential and opportunities for the rest of the country to offer what it has to for partnering and engaging to explore the opportunities and participating in the growth and development of the North Eastern Region. He also stated that the event shall focus on sectors like- MSME, Food Processing, Agriculture and Allied Activities, Tourism, Infrastructure, Energy, Skill & Entrepreneurship etc. Lastly, he mentioned that the Hon’ble Governor of Assam has given his consent to inaugurate the event.
Mr. Siddharth Gautam, Advisor, PHDCCI stated that the event shall include B2B meetings, technical conferences, investment and business meetings, partnership events, entrepreneur’s seminars, farmer’s workshops, and a large exhibition, will be a significant step toward achieving the desired goals of socio-economic development of NER States. He mentioned that these technical conferences and investment meetings shall open various opportunities, like- cross-border trade with neighbouring countries, plantation & processing of aromatic/medicinal plants, setting up of processing units based on locally available resources, developing SMEs for producing items currently procured from other parts etc.
Mr. Bibhuti Dutta, Deputy Resident Director (NER), PHDCCI stated that various conferences and areas of discussions for investment and partnership shall be held under the theme- _Atmanirbhar Bharat, Atmanirbhar North East_ . He also mentioned that there shall be exclusive conferences on Bamboo for Livelihood, National Plastic Park Policy, Skill development and Bank Credit facilities for Entrepreneurship in NER, Banker – Beneficiary Interface.
