NER-SCO Conclave & B2B Forum 2023
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) is partnering with the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd (NEHHDC),Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MoDONER), Government of India for Surajkund International Crafts Fair 2023 (3-19 February 2023) where all together “North Eastern States” are the “Theme State” of this coveted initiative. To sensitise the key stakeholders’ including from the Economic Diplomacy Representatives and entrepreneurs from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and entrepreneurs from India’s North East for deepening the business engagements, a focussed discussion (NER-SCO Conclave & B2B Forum 2023) was organised on 17 February 2023 at Surajkund, Faridabad.
With India’s SCO and G20 Presidency this year, the 36th Surajkund International Crafts Fair 2023 has been offering a unique opportunity for dialogues among the key stakeholders for deepening the cooperation in post-Covid pandemic times. With the participation from the diplomatic, developmental and trade communities, “NER-SCO Conclave & B2B Forum 2023” proved to be an impactful platform for business engagements (from and for Northeast India) with focus on handicrafts and handlooms.
NEHHDC was represented by Brig Rajiv Kumar Singh, Managing Director, North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd, wherein PHDCCI was represented by Col Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General, PHDCCI.
With India’s SCO and G20 Presidency, the 36th Surajkund International Crafts Fair 2023 is offering a unique opportunity for dialogues among the concerned segments of the government and industry for deepening the cooperation in post-Covid pandemic times. SCO is an intergovernmental organization founded in Shanghai on 15 June 2001. The SCO currently comprises eight Member States (China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), four Observer States interested in acceding to full membership (Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia) and six Dialogue Partners (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Turkey). In 2021, the decision was made to start the accession process of Iran to the SCO as a full member, and Egypt, Qatar as well as Saudi Arabia became dialogue partners.
