Indian Delegation to 61st Agra Fair at Gornja, Radgona , Slovenia
Participating as the official Industry partner at the 61st. edition of the Agra Fair at Gornja, Radgojna, Slovenia, the Agribusiness and Food Processing Committee at PHDCCI marked its presence for the second consecutive year.
Ms. Nataša Pirc Musar, the President of Slovenia was the Chief Guest for the occasion and during her ceremonial address, she explained in great detail how the Agra Fair is the symbol of Rich cultural heritage of Slovenia. Explaining the importance of sustainable living and especially sustainable agriculture, she spoke about the emergency Climate change is posing on our planet.
Adding further remarks to the theme of the fair and showing her pleasure being the official country partner at the oldest fair of Slovenia, Excellency, Ms. Namrata Kumar, Ambassador of India to Slovenia, explained how India and Slovenia have the historic diplomatic ties since the long time.
She explained in great detail about the role of various Indian bodies working in tandem towards the betterment of Agriculture and trade she mentioned how Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare , APEDA and PHD Chamber of Commerce who are present here today are standing testimony of the same .
Further, she highlighted the importance of India’s theme for G20 presidency and how India believes in being independent but also being connected through the message of “Vasudaiv Kutumbakam” and how India being the country partner at the prestigious Agra Fair is the testimony to that.
Ms. Irena Šinko, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia shed light on how the government is incentivising farmers across the agricultural landscape.
Ms. Urška Mauko Tuš, Mayor of the Municipality of Gornja, Radgona along with representatives from the Chamber of Agriculture and Food, Slovenia,Mr. Sumit Agarwal, Co-Chair, Food Processing, Committee, PHDCCI, Ms. Mili Dubey, Director , Agribusiness and Food Processing Committee, PHDCCI were also amongst dignitaries present during the occasion. The inaugural concluded with a vote of thanks.
