Indian and International academics foster collaborations with PHDCCI to build University-Industry Linkages
The 3-day MSP (Marketing, Strategy, and Policy) Research Conference in Goa discussed MoUs to bolster research and innovation in India.
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) joined as an Industry partner in the 3-day International Conference on Marketing, Strategy and Policy Research: Connecting the Dots, organized by Marketing, Strategy and Policy (MSP) Research, University of the Arts, London, in collaboration with Goa Institute of Management and Bharati College, University of Delhi, from March 27th to March 29th, 2024 in Goa.
The Conference has resulted in interesting outcomes in the forms of MOUs being discussed between MSP and Bharati College on academic turf and with PHDCCI to build the Industry-University Linkages for the promotion of research and innovation in India. These will be executed under the leadership of Prof Kavita Sharma, President, MSP Research, India Chapter, in collaboration with Prof Suraksha Gupta, founder, MSP Research and Professor, University of the Arts, London along with Prof Saloni Gupta, Principal, Bharati College, University of Delhi, and Dr S P Sharma, Chief Economist | DSG, PHDCCI, respectively.
A strong built up of University-Industry Linkages is needed to enhance research and innovation in India. This will foster technological advancements across various sectors, catalyzing research and innovation for increased employment avenues for the growing young workforce in the country. Strong innovation environment in the country will strengthen the efficiency and efficacy of the enterprises and competitiveness in the global market place.
One of the main features of the Conference was the prestigious TARA Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented to the Father of Modern Marketing, Prof Philip Kotler, a legend of Marketing, who was honoured by another Legend of Marketing, Prof V Kumar, the recipient of the 2023 TARA Lifetime Achievement Award.
The research presented by Indian and international scholars from universities across the globe on the themes of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), in the context of businesses, was highly appreciated. Discussions amongst scholars reflected the multi-disciplinarity, interdisciplinarity, and cross-disciplinarity approach adopted by scholars, with advice from Editors of highly reputed journals, reflected on the opportunities MSP Research opens for Indian academics.
During the Conference, participants from around the World, from academics and industry were present. The Conference provided a global forum for academics, think tanks and industry leaders to share knowledge, encourage teamwork, and deliberate the recent developments in strategy, marketing, and policy research.
