International Innovation Conclave 1.0 – Showcases Transformative Potential of Drone Technology and Skill Development

 

New Delhi, July 3, 2024 – The inaugural day of the International Innovation Conclave 1.0, held at The Leela Palace Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, was marked by insightful discussions and ground-breaking initiatives. Organized by PHDCCI in association with AVPL International, NSDC, and COSAMB, the event highlighted the transformative potential of innovation in various sectors.

The day commenced with an impactful inaugural session focused on “Expanding Drones Business Across International Borders,” with esteemed panellists deliberating on policies and government schemes related to export-import, along with the establishment of drone production units. Esteemed speakers, including Shri Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary, BJP, and Shri Deepak Singhal, Former Chief Secretary of UP, provided valuable insights.

Shri Tarun Chugh, Hon’ble National General Secretary, BJP, highlighted the government’s initiatives and reforms undertaken towards building new pathways especially in the field of technology, one of them being the emerging ‘drone way,’ which promises a futuristic approach to improving agriculture,  and healthcare sectors.”

Emphasising the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji’s “Drone Didi” initiative, aimed at empowering 15,000 women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) by providing agricultural drones and training them, will be a revolutionizing change towards rural agriculture growth, added Shri Chugh.

Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), emphasized the disruptive potential of aviation technology across various sectors. Appreciating the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, which has resulted in India’s advanced drone regulations, Mr Tiwari suggested the formation of an international drone alliance, akin to the International Solar Alliance, to promote co-creation of newer solutions, globally. He expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration between PHDCCI, AVPL, and NSDC for this conference.

Highlighting the transformative impact of drone technology in agriculture Shri Deepak Singhal, IAS (R), Former Chief Secretary UP,  stated that drones can optimize seed and fertilizer use, enhance productivity, and improve water and pesticide efficiency, ultimately boosting food security and increasing per capita food availability in rural areas. He urged the government to invest in drone technology and share knowledge with farmers to further enhance agricultural productivity.

Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Executive Director, PHDCCI, delivered the welcome address, underscoring the critical importance of innovation for the nation’s progress. He emphasized that research and development are essential for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

The other sessions on “Dual Certifications & Global Opportunities for Indian Skilled Manforce” and “Agriculture Drones & Pesticides Industry,”  focussed upon the global certifications & industry trends and the future of agricultural drones and their role in pesticide application, respectively.

The first day of the conclave concluded with vibrant networking sessions, where industry leaders engaged in productive discussions, forging partnerships to drive innovation in the drone industry and enhance global skill development.
