Food articles and crude petroleum & natural gas stoke WPI inflation: PHDCCI
The rise in WPI inflation from 2.6% in May 2024 to 3.3% in June 2024 is mainly stoked by food articles and crude petroleum & natural gas, said Mr. Sanjeev Agrawal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The food articles inflation rose from 9.8% in May 2024 to 10.8% in June 2024, said Mr. Agrawal.
The rise in crude petroleum & natural gas prices led the WPI to rise, from 9.8% in May 2024 to 12.5% in June 2024, he said.
Going ahead, we expect the food prices to stabilise in the coming months, said Mr. Sanjeev Agrawal.
