PHDCCI appreciates the steady growth of IIP
The IIP grew to 4.2% in the month of June 2024 of which mining grew at 10.3%, electricity at 8.6%, and manufacturing grew at 2.6%. High growth of consumer durables at 8.6% and primary goods at 6.3% highlights sustained momentum in domestic activity, said Mr. Sanjeev Agrawal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In the April-June 2024 quarter, mining growth surged to 7.9% compared to 6.3% in the same period. On the other hand, electricity recorded a high growth of 10.9% in comparison to 1.3% in the April-June 2023 quarter, said Mr. Sanjeev Agrawal.
Despite global economic volatility, we look forward that the growth trajectory of the Indian economy remains on the high road in 2024-25 too, said Mr. Sanjeev Agrawal.
