PHDCCI, through its carbon market forum, Calls for Industry to Take the Lead in Global Carbon Reduction Efforts

As the saying goes, every small step counts towards achieving a big goal; especially when the world stands at the helm of a global crisis related to carbon management the consensus on creation of carbon credits standards at COP29 is a welcome move towards a carbon free atmosphere.

PHDCCI takes pride in the fact that we are one of the prominent Chamber of Commerce to have realised the severity of the situation and took charge of bringing together the Indian Industry towards achieving India’s Net zero target by 2070 and a 45% reduction in the carbon intensity of its economy, by 2030, through a dedicated Carbon Market Forum, under the leadership of our President Mr Hemant Jain.

PHDCCI being a Voice of India’s industry and trade, is committed to advocating sustainable and inclusive growth. The latest consensus on creation of carbon credits standard marks a milestone in the global decarbonization journey creating both responsibilities and opportunities for businesses, said Mr. Hemant Jain, President, PHDCCI

He added, through this framework we encourage our members to act as pioneers and invest in carbon-reducing technologies and access new revenue which will definitely foster a sustainable future for India.
