“Transparency & Scalability is only possible through adopting new technologies for the growth of AYUSH sector said by Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India”.

PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Association of Manufacturers of Ayurvedic Medicine (AMAM) jointly organized an Interactive Session with Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India on 14th July 2022 at PHD House, New Delhi.

The interactive session was conducted by Mr. Anil Kaushal, Secretary, Business Head & Sr. Vice President-Lupin limited with Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India touched upon various significant points and gave a clear vision to the Industry for the growth. He mentioned that in the recent years various progressive steps have been taken by the Ministry for development of the AYUSH sector. He also talked about E-AUSHADHI portal for online licensing of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy drugs and related matters and the portal is intended for increased transparency, improved information management facility, improved data usability and increased accountability. He further stressed upon the Industry and academia collaboration and linkage, which will definitely play a strategic role in developing critical skills required for the growth of the AYUSH industry. He also highlighted of dream of making India a super power in the Healthcare sector.

The Interactive session was also joined by Smt. Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH and Mr. Asad Mueed, Trustee, HamdardLaboratories & Patron Member, PHD Chamber& Vice President, AMAM.

Mr. Pradeep Multani, President, PHDCCI & AMAM and Chairman, Multani Pharmaceuticals Limited, mentioned that during the period of covid-19 period Ayurveda based preventive healthcare gained prominence in the consumer mind space. People became more inclined to prophylactic health remedies, especially immunity-boosting products. Mr. Multani also highlighted the continuous efforts of Ministry of AYUSH in promoting AYUSH sector and recognizing it globally in recent years.

Padma Bhushan Padma Shri Vaidya DevendraTriguna, Patron of AMAM& President All India Ayurvedic Congress and Ayurveda Mahasammelan, spoke about the significant efforts taken by Ministry of AYUSH to promote Ayurveda internationally. He also talked about the digital India movement which has made significant changes in the sector. Health is a major concern in India. Implementation of IT in healthcare is being accelerated to provide better and effective care for people. Ministry has taken initiatives to get onboard in healthcare. The sector is now reaching great heights with the help of expertise and technology involved.

Dr. Rajiva Kumar Rai, Chair, AYUSH Committee, PHDCCI, Joint Secretary, AMAM & Head R&D Dabur India limited presented a formal vote of thanks and heartily thanked Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha ji for sparing his valuable time and sharing important aspects about the sector and providing a new vision to the Industry.
