PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), established in 1905, is a proactive and dynamic National Apex Chamber, working at the grass-root level across India with strong national and international linkages. Through policy interventions, it acts as a catalyst in the promotion of industry, trade and entrepreneurship.

PHDCCI AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

PHDCCI Annual Awards for Excellence were instituted in 1997 to recognize Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements and contribution in specified areas for promoting corporate and individual initiatives in the economy, social development, promotion of entrepreneurship, start-ups and recognizing successful women-led enterprises.

The Jury for PHDCCI Annual Awards for Excellence comprises of very eminent and accomplished persons of the country who select the Awardees after a thorough examination of all applications through a rigorous third party evaluation process and audit. The Awardees are decided based on their overall contribution to the economy by way of their corporate achievements/ growth and the promoters’ individual merits in achievements. The Jury carries out an in-depth evaluation for bestowing the Awards to selected participants to showcase the spirit of excellence and motivate other business entities/ persons to achieve similar milestones.

OBJECTIVE

• To recognize Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements/ contributions in selected areas
• To promote corporate and individual initiatives in economic, social, educational, and cultural areas
• To encourage healthy and ethical business practices
• To create consciousness about the business community’s role towards society, environment and corporate social responsibility
• To promote entrepreneurship and innovation in MSME sector
• To motivate women to take up leadership role in business and social welfare
• To encourage Start-ups for driving sustainable transformation of Indian economy and making measurable impact for the society.

While screening the nominations, the applicant company’s / individual’s proactive initiatives in addressing business and society issues, outstanding contribution to social and community welfare & endeavors towards minimizing environmental footprints and economics in the design of its products and services and the management of its operations is considered.

ELIGIBILITY

a) An Indian corporate / individual (above 18 years of age) can apply for award for one or more of the following category of awards.

1. PHDCCI Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (General Category) – Individual
2. PHDCCI Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (MSME Category) – Individual
3. PHDCCI Outstanding Businesswoman Award – Individual
4. PHDCCI Outstanding Start-up Award – Individual
5. PHDCCI Good Corporate Citizen Award – Corporate
6. PHDCCI Outstanding Contribution to Social Welfare Award – Corporate
7. Lifetime Achievement Award – Individual

Kindly Note:-

• An applicant applying in PHDCCI Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (General Category) cannot apply in PHDCCI Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (MSME Category) and vice-versa.
• The Nature of Business should not be socially undesirable.

b) Previous recipients of PHDCCI Awards can apply for any category(s) other than the one in which they were awarded in the last 5 years.

c) Applicant must ensure that their Annual Accounts and Report and Balance Sheet for the last 3 FYs (2022-23, 2021-22 & 2020-21) are audited and furnished with the form.

d) Both Investment and turnover will be considered as the criteria for the MSME award category (as per the revised definition of MSME, June 2020)

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

a) Application Forms can be downloaded from the website
b) All Application forms should be duly filled in and submitted before the end date i.e., 15th July, 2024. Incomplete forms without annexures will be summarily REJECTED.
c) All Application forms must be accompanied by a Self-Declaration on Company’s Letterhead and signed by the applicant.
d) All Application form must be accompanied by a Recommendation letter on the Recommending company’s letterhead and duly signed and submitted in original. The recommending person/ company / must be a member of any national / state level chamber or industry association and must quote their membership number on the recommendation letter.
e) A separate form needs to be filled if applying for more than one category. Each form must be accompanied by annexures (photocopies are permitted with self-attestation with additional forms)
f) Copy of the prescribed Application form can be used for filing more than one nomination in categories listed above.
g) PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds the right to reject any application at any time with no liability to give justification.

SCREENING PROCESS

Awards will be decided by a three level meticulous screening and selection procedure validated by third party auditors and finalized by an eminent Jury chaired by the Former Chief Justice of India and other prominent personalities.

THE AWARD

Awards will be conferred at the Annual Session of PHDCCI by the Chief Guest. Each Award includes a Citation and a Trophy. A Citations Booklet will be printed for wide circulation. Awardees will be publicized through advertisement in leading national dailies, PHDCCI website, and social media.

Applications are invited from Corporates and Individuals in six categories. The Narration of each category of Awards is given below. Please read carefully and choose the category(s) you wish to apply for.

• PHDCCI Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (General Category)

The Outstanding Entrepreneur (General Category) of the Year 2024 honors individuals who exemplify outstanding entrepreneurial skills, outstanding leadership qualities, professional achievement of the highest caliber in the management of an enterprise and he/she has been primarily responsible for the formation or growth/turnaround of an enterprise, who is dedicated to improving the community and has made a positive impact through their strategic initiatives and has through his/her entrepreneurship, successfully created a new business opportunity, service or product.” The nature of business should not be socially undesirable.

• PHDCCI Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (MSME Category)

The Outstanding Entrepreneur (MSME Category) of the Year 2024 honors individuals who exemplify outstanding entrepreneurial skills, outstanding leadership qualities, and professional achievement of the highest caliber in the management of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). He/ She has been primarily responsible for the formation or growth/turnaround of an enterprise, who is dedicated to improving the community and has made a positive impact through their strategic initiatives and his/her entrepreneurship, successfully created a new business opportunity, service or product.” The nature of business should not be socially undesirable.

• PHDCCI Outstanding Businesswoman Award

The Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year 2024 honors women who exemplify outstanding entrepreneurial skills, leadership qualities, professional achievement of the highest caliber in the management of an enterprise, has been primarily responsible for the formation or growth/turnaround of an enterprise, who is dedicated to improving the community and has made a positive impact on society through her/ organization’s strategic initiatives and has through her entrepreneurship, successfully created a new business opportunity, service or product.” The nature of business should not be socially undesirable.

• PHDCCI Outstanding Start-up Award

An Outstanding Start-up of the Year 2024 honors start-ups recognized by Govt. of India which have succeeded in transforming the business and social landscape of Indian economy and generated measurable impact for the society and towards building a global company. Startups should have goals of promoting employment, increasing GDP and raising investor’s wealth. It should have completed maximum of 6 years of operation and finalized 3 years of audited accounts. It should also have achieved financial turnover of minimum Rs.3.00 crore. Start-ups having a positive EBIDTA, Women led innovation and Impact in rural areas will be an added advantage. • PHDCCI Good Corporate Citizen Award

A Good Corporate Citizen of the Year 2024 honors a company that integrates Environmental, Social, Governance, Ethical and Economic values in the core decision making process and activities of their business. Corporate Citizenship is the way in which a company has shown an outstanding contribution to Social development & Community services. Corporate citizenship encompasses the Values, Policies, Practices and Performance targets that guide a company’s business strategy while maximizing returns to shareholders and society while ensuring minimum negative impact on society and environment.

• PHDCCI Outstanding Contribution to Social Welfare Award

An Outstanding Contribution to Social Welfare of the Year 2024 honors an organization which has made an outstanding contribution in the field of Social Work/ Community Development & Service/ Environment protection and conservation They are adjudged to have carried out their corporate social responsibilities to the highest level in areas such as economic Impact, social Impact and community outreach services, environmental impact, and employee development.

Lifetime Achievement Award 2024

Nominations are not invited for this category. The Committee members suggest the names of distinguished individuals who have set highest benchmark in entrepreneurship, exemplified outstanding leadership qualities, demonstrated professional achievement of the highest caliber in the management of their enterprise, or have been the key or sole driver behind or primarily responsible for the growth/ turnaround of their enterprise and undertaken strategic initiatives for successfully creating a new business opportunity, service or product. It also gives due weightage and recognizes their contribution and positive impact towards improving the community. The Award is given to commemorate the awardees career at the limelight and who during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding significance to their respective field of excellence.
