The Modi government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, says Mr. Nityanand Rai Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India on the recent J&K terrorist attack, while speaking at MILIPOL India 

 

France considers India a key market, and this Milipol expo and conference is going to elevate industry, security forces, technology, and business collaborations between both countries to a higher level under one platform. Through such events and the partnership between the two countries, we can build a strong and enabling ecosystem where startups and MSMEs from both nations can work together collaboratively, said Mr. Nityanand Rai Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India at MILIPOL INDIA Conference on Defence & Homeland Security, organized by PHDCCI, in association with Interads Exhibition, and COMEXPOSIUM; supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the French Ministry of Interior,  a three-day expo being held from 23rd to 25th April 2025 at Yashobhoomi, IICC, Dwarka, New Delhi.

He added, that France has also expressed its condolences on the J&K terrorist attack, and we sincerely thank them for that. The Modi government is working with a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. India is committed to eliminating terrorism from the world in collaboration and solidarity with other nations, and we are making every possible effort to ensure that terrorism comes to an end.

He added that the 27 years long partnership between India and France has expanded significantly and increasingly focused on self-reliance.  Hon’ble Minister further informed that a DRDO office has also been opened in France, and recalled the success of the UPI launch at the Eiffel Tower in January 2024, as well as the meeting held with potential merchants in February 2024. Also, ten specially-trained Indian CAPF and Special Commando Force dogs were deployed in France to provide counter-terrorism and anti-sabotage security at various venues during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Our cooperation is expanding into several critical sectors, and this is a significant step focused on strengthening our national frameworks. This partnership is extremely important, and in recent years, both countries have made substantial progress, concluded the Hon’ble Minister.

Mr. Francois-Noel BUFFET, Hon’ble Minister, attached to the Ministre d’Etat (in French), Minister of Interior of France, expressed his condolences for yesterday’s J&K terrorist attack and discussed that France stands with India in its fight against terrorism.

He added, this year marks the 27th anniversary of the partnership and at present France has 10 billion euros invested in India and we want to further promote Indian investment in France. This Indo-French relationship is very important on a global level. In a world where we see a surge in uncooperativeness, this cooperation will play an important role in the growth of both countries

On the political front, he discussed Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France in 2023 and emphasised that France supports India’s bid for a permanent seat in the UNSC. He also talked about both countries’ commitment to protecting the environment and informed that the partnership also extends to the domain of homeland security.

Mr. Buffet further thanked the organisers of Milipol and added that the strategic partnership between France and India, especially the bilateral cooperation in homeland security, is important. He concluded that this event is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our agile capability in terms of equipment.

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Jindal, CSS Additional Secretary (PM & DM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India said that the conference marks a significant milestone between India and France as both countries shares a multi faceted bilateral relationship. India’s internal security landscape is complex and has many challenges. In addition, there are many challenges due to AI and the latest technologies too therefore our basic priority is to get advanced technology to fight these diverse threats.

In India, our Central Armed Forces play an important role and equipping our forces with state-of-the-art technology has become necessary to fight such challenges. This gathering offers a unique opportunity for us to explore new technologies, innovation, and to create a fertile ground for technology transfer.
