STATES' POLICY CONCLAVE 2019
Objectives
- Creation of Interactive & Action Platform for key Policy‐makers of all the Indian states and Industry Captains – for making them share their experiences on “Best Practices in Governance” and their impact as indicators on the businesses and economy.
- Rope in the expertise of functional experts with a proven track record in the field.
- Consolidate a ‘way‐forward’ pertinent to the “Strengthening Government‐Industry Interface in States,” for realizing the goal of “Making New India.”
- Recognise and acknowledge the states doing well in crucial areas through meticulously‐researched “Knowledge Report and Post‐event Report”.
- Suggestions for new policies and schemed to sustain the governance programmes and further help them in achieving greater inclusive growth.
- Recognise and acknowledge the states doing well in certain areas as per the spirit of Niti Aayog Action Agenda – and present their Models, for replication in other states.
Key Features
- As India is entering into a growth trajectory at a remarkable global scale, the role of states’ becomes ever more important being the essential component of “Cooperative Federalism”. The Conclave essentially comes in term with it.
- The leading policy‐makers and industry captains would speak on the policy measures taken to improve the industrial scenario in states’ and on future way‐forward.
- The Inaugural & Policy Session of the Conclave essentially centered on “Empowering States”, to strengthen India’s federal structure of governance.
- The Plenary Sessions are designed to host the dialogues of policy‐makers, the government officials from states and industry captains – to create a new roadmap to make states’, the hubs of economic growth and prosperity.
- The dedicated session on the Partner States’ will offer a platform to the government officials from the state to be in dialogue with the industry stakeholders to showcase and share their achievements for industrial development, concerns, and further plans.
- The Conclave will host meaningful B2G and B2B Sessions. • Besides showcasing the Best Practices of different states’, the Conclave will also offer a powerful platform for different stakeholders from Central & State Governments, Industry, Policy Establishments, Diplomatic Corps (Embassies & High Commissions), International Agencies & Multilateral Institutions, Investors, Civil Society, Media together for constructive idea‐exchange and policy deliberations.
Major Attraction: Biotech State Connect Session
BIRAC is committed to promote Biotechnology Startup Ecosystem across the country. A focused Policy session (02:30 pm – 05:00 pm) is being organized to work more closely with the states for facilitating expansion of Biotech innovation ecosystem and create state specific opportunities across the country. The opportunities for capacity building, policies level intervention, Ecosystem Connect at G2G level and promoting States’ Startup/Biotech policies on National as well as International platforms would be discussed.
