I am pleased to inform you that PHD Chamber and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) is organizing a Seminar on “Business Restructuring – Evolving Legal Issues and Imperatives” on Saturday, 21st April 2018 at 10.30 am till 4 PM at PHD House, New Delhi.
Government of India have initiated number of policy changes including amendments in various legislations towards restructuring of corporate business which included taxation, Insolvency, Bankruptcy laws etc. It would be in tune with the commitment of the Government to attract foreign investment and to boost manufacturing sector with a view to create more employment opportunities.
Besides the inaugural session which would broadly set the framework of the Seminar, the Seminar will focus on the following laws –
- Laws relating to Corporate Restructuring and Business Turnaround;
- Taxation Laws;
- Insolvency, Bankruptcy, Judicial Interference in reasonable situations, approach of NCLT/NCLAT;
Hon’ble Chief Justice Mr. M. M. Kumar, President, National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Dr Lalit Bhasin, President Bar Association of India and President Society of Indian Law Firms, Mr Ravi Singhania, Singhania & Partners LLP, Mr Aseem Chawla, ASC Legal Solicitors and Advocates, Chairman and Co-Chairmen of the Law and Justice Committee respectively and Mr Prashant Kumar, Advocate, President-Elect of Bar Association of India, Mr Bharat Gupta, Partner, Restructuring & Turnaround are addressing the Seminar. Besides them, eminent speakers would comprise Lawyers and other prominent persons in business, profession and bureaucrats. We have invited officials from NCLT and former Judges of High Courts / Supreme Court.
We are inviting Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India to inaugurate the Seminar.
The Seminar will be beneficial to lawyers, in house counsel, Company Secretaries, competitive/ new emerging business personnel, law faculty and scholars. Detailed programme will follow.
There is no participation fee but prior registration is must so that arrangements can be made accordingly.
